And… we’re back!
As part of the effort to get The Rumpus Room started at last, we’ve started uploading old VHS-taped programming blocks to the beloved Internet Archive. Most of the blocks so far are vintage collections of Disney Channel programming; while the featured programs might be of interest to some, the real gold is in the bumpers, transitions, and interstitial material between shows. From previews of upcoming park attractions to just plain ol’ commercials with a retro vibe, it’s a real time capsule.
I should make clear that none of these tapes were from our personal collection – they’re the fruit of the labor of others, people who were kind enough to tape, digitize, and share this material online over the years. I’ve accumulated them over time and felt it was time to get them off the hard drive and into your eyes. So thanks to digitizers everywhere, and enjoy!
